The New York Shadow Chasers Paranormal Investigations & Research Organization were founded at the University of Potsdam in 2002 as a study in anthrolpological field research. As a result, the team are CITI certified social sciences researchers following the professional protocols of in-field psychology and anthropology researchers.

The Shadow Chasers primary objective in investigating the paranormal is to document regional folklore, including reports of haunted sites and mysterious creatures, with the aim of identifying the origins of paranormal claims. N.Y.S.P.R. Paranormal is described as unusual experiences that lack a scientific explanation. Some life events may be indescribable. Meaning there is no way of telling how or why that event happened in a particular way or time. A paranormal “being” may also be known as spirits, entities, ghosts, or apparitions. Some of these words that describe paranormal activity may be intimidating or may be frightening to accept.Knowledge is the key,the more you know the less there is to fear, most just want to be heard, noticed, or remembered. We are a research team working to find answers about the paranormal though documentation of our investigations and to help find solutions to prove any possible paranormal activity. We are not ghost hunters! We are a paranormal research team; we document our research so others can learn from our findings. Confidentiality is honored in all of our cases; we will never give out any information about any investigations, findings or locations without written approval from our hosts.
